Tommy and Jimmy Swarbrigg were the first to start writing and recording their own material during the Showband era of the 70’s.
Initially with the band “The Times” and later with “The Swarbrigg Band” the wrote, produced and recorded hit after hit in the Irish Charts and played to packed and excited audiences all over Ireland, Britain and Europe before bringing the curtain down on their career in 1980.
They won the Irish Nation Song Contest twice and went on to represent Ireland in the Eurovision song contest in 1975 and 1977.
Also in 1975 they won the coveted Irish Record Industry Award as “Entertainers of the year” and “That’s What Friends Are For won the record of the years.
This album contains a selection of their recorded material during the decade including 5 number one’s and 18 chart entries.
