The release of the new album from Cathy Maguire has been long awaited.
She was born in Dundalk and at a very young age became known locally as a child star.
She recorded her first album at the age of twelve and after several listeners' requests, she was invited by Gerry Ryan to perform a live set on his radio program. This sparked off a career that spanned numerous TV appearances and 3 albums by the time she was 17.
After formal college education, Cathy travelled to the United States and worked in Nashville as a songwriter which also enabled her to develop as a singer. A few years later she returned home and this was the trip that resulted in the creation of her new album.
The album was recorded in Dublin and includes a rare mix of accomplished self-penned songs and classics from artists that have truly inspired Cathy.
Tracks include ‘Portrait’, ‘Love The One Your With’, ‘Nothing But Blue’ and ‘I Wish It Would Raindown’.
