Music, humour and travel are all the natural ingredients of the Furey's family, they grew up in the Dublin suburb of Ballyfermot into a family steeped in musical tradition. There father was the famous fiddle player the late Ted Furey who made many recordings which are still being released around the world today. Their late mother Nora was know for her songs and stories, she also played the accordion and banjo.
