Phil Coulter - Coulter Classics. This is a unique collection of recordings, spanning thirty years and containing some rare gems, never heard before.

It was in 1973 that Phil Coulter produced his brand new song "The Town I Loved So Well" with Luke Kelly and the Dubliners. Modern technology has enabled Phil to lift Luke's vocal from that original recording and re-work it in a new arrangement as a duet. A truly historic combination. The same technology has allowed Phil to revisit another of his original classics "Steal Away" by the Furey Brothers.

Also featured are a selection from Phil's hugely successful Tranquilly albums, representing the most requested songs in his repertoire and some of the most consistently popular songs in Ireland, like the "The Fields of Antenry" and the "Cliffs of Dooneen"

Bringing the collection bang up to date are some newly recorded tracks, songs that have won a special place in people's hearts in recent years. These include Jimmy McCarthy's musical "No Frontiers" and "Bright Blue Rose", Stings "Fields Of Gold", recorded so magically by Eva Cassidy, Enya's classic "Orinoco Flow" and Sarah McLachlann's glorious song "The Arms Of The Angel", a huge hit last year for Westlife.

From vintage originals to contemporary favourites every one of these songs is special. Presented with Phil's imaginative arrangements and inimitable piano styling, these really are Coulter classics.
