When Fair city started in 1989 the series originally focused on four families: The O’hanlons, The Kellys, The Clarkes and The Cocrans. During the 1990’s the Phelan, Doyle, Molly families were introduced and dominated storylines for that decade. The Halpin family was gradually introduced in the early 200’s but since then the shows focus has shifted to individual character more than family groupings and has grown to include the wider community of Carrigstown.
