Sleeve Notes Pio McCann
Its been said that when it comes to recording, there's no such thing as a recipe for success. However, in my book this album from Eamon McCann has all the ingredients to make it his most outstanding collection to date.
From evergreen classics like "Lying In The Arms Of Mary" and "Is Anybody Going To San Antone" to brand new songs like "Creggan" in which Eamon displays his pride in his roots, this album is testimony to Eamon's versatility as both a singer and a songwriter. There are songs for your every mood from the upbeat "Donegal We're Goin' Home" to the lament of !I Still Can't Say Goodbye". Whether the song is one of his own or a cover version, Eamon's truthful vocal expression gives him the unique ability to conjure up images far beyond the words of any song.
In short Eamon, Eamon Mc Cann is a true perfectionist, evident in every area of his work from his album to his charismatic live-stage performances. I am so glad Eamon's career is riding on the crest of a wave.
Eamon is a very genuine guy who appreciates all the support he receives. The bottom line is that Eamon has pure talent and Talent always shines through.
In the closing line of one of the songs on the album, Eamon sings "In my next life I'll make you proud of me" - as far as I am concerned, we don't have to wait until then, the pride starts as soon as you listed to the first note of this album.
