Brendan Bowyer was Ireland’s most popular and enduring Showband star ever. As lead singer with The Royal Showband Brendan chalked up a never ending stream of No 1 Hits like “The Hucklebuck”, “Don’t Loose Your Hucklebuck Shoes”, “Kiss Me Quick” and “Iran All The Way Home” and when the band went to perform in Las Vegas, First at the Stardust and then at the Barbary Coast, even Elvis came to see their show.
Later he formed The Big 8 Showband, the hits kept on coming, both for himself and his featured Kerry born vocalist DJ Curtin who topped the Irish Charts with his powerful rendition of “Noreen Bawn”.
